With just under a year to the next civic elections, Metro Vancouver mayors are gearing up to get things accomplished in their communities before voters head to the polls. When asked about the “one remaining thing they hope to accomplish before the municipal elections in 2014,” these were their responses:

Goal: Before the next election I really hope that we can secure the funding for our Lions Gate waste water treatment plant upgrade and relocation. It is a priority for us to have both the provincial and federal levels of government commit to a cost-sharing formula so that we can meet the new waste water regulations that come into effect in 2020.

  1. Maybe lame duck Mayor Darrell Mussatto can take the money from astronomical salaries of civic workers. The one he says is a “fixed cost.”
