OCP City Shaping Update

Details from the City of North Van on the OCP City Shaping update opportunities in January and February:

 

On Monday, December 9, 2013, Council referred the City’s Draft Official Community Plan (OCP) to the public for input and discussion. At that same meeting, Council also referred a Draft Density Bonus and Amenity Contribution Policy to the public for input and discussion parallel with the Draft OCP. This email is to advise of upcoming information and input opportunities in January and February leading toward a Town Hall Meeting on the Draft Plan in early March.

 

Look for the Draft OCP insert in the North Shore News this Sunday, January 12th for a summary of proposed changes. The full plan and background materials can be accessed by clicking here.

CityShaping is the effort to update the City of North Vancouver’s long range plan, the Official Community Plan. CityShaping seeks to involve as many community members and stakeholders as possible in a dialogue about the City’s future. Stage One focused on identifying issues such as the affordability and diversity of housing in the City. Stage Two involved a dialogue about critical issues.Stage Three was about Land Use Scenarios and Policy Directions to inform a draft OCP. Stage Fourhas involved the development of a draft Official Community Plan followed by further discussion and input leading to a final draft Plan.
